Newborns need to rest and sleep at least 16 hours per day. Parents only need about 8 hours of sleep but, things do change when you have a baby at home. Life seems to be all about the baby. Parents should not forget who they are and the wonderful things they use to do and love to do even after having a baby.

One of the best choices you can make is to start your baby on a routine that will work for you and your loved ones. Babies need direction from their parents and to learn that there is a time for every action. Getting a baby adapted to the family's lifestyle is the key for all parents to achieve long, restful nights.

By mapping our day on a solid routine for our babies and toddlers, we will overcome a lot of the depression parents go through. If parents do not get enough sleep, they may become impatient with their baby and this can lead to neglect, abuse, hate, arguments with your loved one, loss of memory, self-abuse, low hygiene, and many other problems. It's imperative to schedule your baby's eating and sleeping habits but still be flexible for recreation and personal time.

Finally, scheduling your baby is the fastest and surest way to have your baby sleeping all night long much sooner than later.
